“In the bulb there is a flower…”

(Hymn of Promise, UMH # 707, Natalie Sleeth)

On Sunday, September 27th our congregation celebrated Rally Day!  The weather was perfect for outdoor worship on our front lawn.  We had a wonderful time together celebrating the beginning of another year of ministry with children, youth and their families, as well as giving God thanks for the community we have received through the church.  Eighty people were in attendance.  During worship and afterward we gave thanks to God for the gift of Helen and Jim Wick.  It was their 68th wedding anniversary and the final Sunday Jim and Helen were able to be with us before moving to Western Massachusetts to be closer to family.  After worship our youth also invited  members of the congregation to join with them in planting spring bulbs around our sanctuary and in the gardens of the Fishermen’s House.  We thank our Youth Director Valerie Jansson for all her creative leadership , and everyone who helped make this day an extra special one!
